To use the Digital Backgrounds:
Once your QuickTime files have successfully downloaded and, if necessary unzipped, copy them to your Hard Drive. To conserve disc space, if you requested physical delivery on DVD-ROM, you might want to copy from the disc only those files you need right now.
Open your project and import the Digital Backgrounds you require.
Drop the files on to your timeline at the appropriate point.
N.B. To use encyber:Digital Media video backgrounds you will need Apple's QuickTime 7.5. Due to the nature of codecs and compression and the resulting files sizes, the video backgrounds are compressed using a variety of codec technologies. We use the following codecs: Animation, H.264 and Apple ProRes HQ: please see individual clips for confirmation of which codec has been used. You may need to download Apple ProRes Decoder, either for Mac or for Windows.
To get the most from your encyber: Digital Media Video Backgrounds:
Try changing the clip's composite mode and opacity when you put it onto the timeline. See what results you can get.
Play around with the colour, levels, gamma, contrast etc
The library contains a number of mattes, such as the Digital Mattes collection, Kaleidospin Matte and the Fountain and 3D Fountain Specials collections. Try compositing these with other backgrounds from the Library for some interesting results.
